Chaos erupted in Homa Bay during a Linda Mwananchi meeting, but Edwin Sifuna, the Secretary-General of ODM, successfully de-escalated the situation. The unrest disrupted planned activities and forced the Linda Mwananchi initiative to alter its route to the meeting venue. Police subsequently arrested 14 suspects following separate incidents where youths allegedly attempted to disrupt the Linda Mwananchi movement's tour. Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma had issued a stern warning against the Linda Mwananchi movement ahead of their planned political rallies in the county. Separately, Kenya's National Police Service issued a stern warning to politicians and organizers against incitement and violence as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 General Election.
