Nakuru health workers have initiated a strike, protesting the delayed implementation of their 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). President William Ruto subsequently ordered a review of agreements with healthcare workers following the first National Health Summit in Kenya. The summit addressed persistent issues within the health sector, particularly concerning frequent strikes by healthcare providers and unfulfilled implementation of past contracts. The Kenya Health Summit concluded with urgent calls for swift resolution to the ongoing standoff concerning the welfare of health workers. Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja declared that no hospital in the city should report a shortage of medicine.
