The commission has also expressed displeasure over a recent surge in political thuggery during this political season. Women leaders have issued a stern warning against political violence as Kenya approaches the 2027 general election, while women in Embu have launched a peace campaign in response to recent political violence. The Kenyan police are investigating violent incidents that occurred during a political rally led by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki in Embu on Saturday.
