The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has issued a stark warning to Kenyans regarding falsified Lucentis (Ranibizumab) 0.3mg injections detected in the market, leading to one arrest.

• The falsified injections were identified through the PPB's post-marketing surveillance and have batch numbers 18862110 and 18802112.
• Key organizations involved include the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) and Novartis Overseas Investment AG, the supplier of the genuine product.
• Notable discrepancies include the falsified product being labelled as Lucentis and containing 0.3mg, while the registered product in Kenya is Patizra and labelled 10mg/mL, also differing in vial color and dates.
