Standard Chartered Bank has launched the Women in Cyber Mentorship Programme aimed at addressing East Africa's cybersecurity talent gap by providing training and mentorship to early-career women.

• 22 percent of the global cybersecurity workforce is female, with an estimated 2.5 million unfilled roles worldwide.
• Jaine Mwai, Chief Technology and Operations Officer at Standard Chartered, emphasized the importance of gender and skills equity in cybersecurity.
• Participants from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will receive technical training, soft skills development, and networking opportunities, with applications open until June 30, 2025.
