The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has summoned Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat to provide a statement regarding the death of teacher and blogger Albert Ojwang’, who died while in police custody.

• 20 police officers, including the Deputy OCS, have recorded statements.
• IPOA Chairperson Ahmed Issack Hassan stated that there will be no sacred cows in the quest for justice.
• The authority condemned excessive police force used during protests, which left at least 13 people injured, including Boniface Mwangi Kariuki, who was shot.
