A Kenya Power security guard was fatally shot during protests in Nairobi on June 24, marking the first anniversary of anti-finance bill demonstrations by Gen-Z activists.

• Mr. Fred Wamale Wanyonyi, an employee of Hatari Security, was shot around 4:30 p.m. at the Kolobot Road entrance.
• The guard was taken to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
• Kenya Power expressed condolences, stating they are collaborating with investigative authorities to find out more about the incident.
