The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) has announced new minimum prices for wheat following stakeholder consultations for the 2025/26 season.

• Grade 1 wheat will now cost a minimum of Sh4,750 per 90kg bag, while Grade 2 will be priced at Sh4,650.
• Bruno Linyiru, the Authority Director General, stated the goal is to ensure fair compensation for farmers and boost production.
• Millers seeking benefits from the Duty Remission Scheme for imports must commit to purchasing local wheat in proportion to their quotas.
