A retired senior police officer has testified in a Nairobi court, linking former Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Director Ndegwa Muhoro to a probe into JamboPay agents over alleged fraud involving Nairobi City Hall revenue. The investigation, triggered by complaints from former Governor Mike Sonko and Bunge la Mwananchi President Henry Shitanda, targeted Webtribe Ltd and its CEO, Danson Muchemi.

• Former Commissioner of Police Joseph Ondoro revealed he was instructed by Ndegwa Muhoro to lead a cybercrime investigation against JamboPay agents for operating unauthorized revenue collection outlets and failing to remit full amounts to Nairobi County.
• Danson Muchemi allegedly attempted to bribe Governor Sonko at his Kanamai residence in Kilifi County, leading to a recorded conversation between them.
• Former Nairobi County Finance CEC Winfred Gathagu claims senior State House officials orchestrated a political scheme in 2019 to remove Sonko, framing a corruption scandal to justify his impeachment due to his anti-graft stance.
• Chief Inspector Kiptoo Kisorio testified that Muchemi offered Sonko between Sh4 million and Sh5 million daily to continue collecting revenue.
