This follows a Citizen TV report on Esther Ulavu's story, whose child was diverted to Abyan Hospital after complications during a routine surgery.

• KMPDC has transferred the child to Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital for continued care.
• KMPDC Chief Executive Officer Dr. David Kariuki stated that detaining vulnerable individuals like children breaches ethical conduct and erodes public trust.
