Lamu and Tharaka Nithi counties are set to significantly benefit from Kenya's new County Allocation of Revenue Bill, approved by Parliament. The bill allocates a total of Ksh415 billion for the 2025/2026 fiscal year to be shared among counties.

• The Budget and Appropriations Committee confirmed the new allocation, following mediation between the National Assembly and the Senate.
• Lamu County will see an 18.53% increase, while Tharaka Nithi County will receive a 14.97% increase in funding.
• This new funding incorporates a base allocation from FY 2024/2025, an affirmative share for 12 marginalized counties, and an additional distribution based on a new formula considering population, basic share, poverty, and geographical size.
