Cabinet Secretaries Wycliffe Oparanya and John Mbadi have been ordered to appear before the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare today after repeatedly failing to honor previous summons. Failure to comply could result in hefty fines or imprisonment.

• Wycliffe Oparanya, Cooperatives and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary, has snubbed seven invitations since August last year regarding the Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC) terminal benefits.
• John Mbadi, Treasury Cabinet Secretary, has failed to honor eight summons since August 2024 concerning delayed pensions for the Kenya Railways Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme.
