Mombasa-based TikTok influencer, Shedrack Omondi Okindo (alias Mosquito), was released on bail after his arrest for allegedly making seditious remarks against President William Ruto. Represented by Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino, Mosquito was granted bail of Ksh300,000.

• Mosquito was arrested on August 5 by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over a viral video.
• In the video, he allegedly threatened retaliation by former servicemen if President Ruto's administration did not release Patrick Osoi and Jackson Kihara (Cop Shakur).
• The DCI stated the clip contained threats, violence, and incitement against public order.
