The Nairobi County Government is intensifying its crackdown on illegal waste dumping, targeting Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) and Private Service Providers (PSPs). Offenders risk license revocation, prosecution, and significant penalties under the Nairobi City County Solid Waste Management Act, 2015.

• Penalties include a fine not exceeding Ksh200,000 or imprisonment of up to two years.
• The initiative is led by Chief Officer Environment Geoffrey Mosiria.
• This follows an earlier crackdown on hotels and businesses in the Central Business District (CBD) over improper waste disposal, highlighted on Monday, August 25.
