Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested two women in Nairobi’s Upper Hill area after they were found with a significant quantity of counterfeit US dollars.

• The suspects, identified as Ifrah Ali Jeyte and Qamar Salat Abdi, were in possession of USD 560,000, equivalent to approximately Ksh70 million, in fake currency.
• The DCI Nairobi Regional Office conducted the well-coordinated operation, discovering bundles of USD 100 denomination notes concealed in a handbag.
• The counterfeit currency was counted at DCI Nairobi Area Headquarters, confirming the large sum. Both suspects are being processed and are expected to be arraigned in court.
