This move, approved by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), aims to help drivers meet the new nationwide eTIMS requirements.
- The app will process eTIMS invoices on behalf of its drivers, requiring them to submit their KRA PIN certificates and accept a consent form.
- The KRA introduced the eTIMS platform in 2023 to digitize tax compliance, curb tax evasion, and ensure real-time transaction monitoring.
- As of June of last year, only 120,000 businesses, or 18.1 percent of the 663,000 companies on the KRA's records, had signed up for eTIMS.
