Kituo Cha Sheria has sued the Kenyan government to restore medical services for prison inmates after a Nairobi public hospital, Mbagathi County Referral Hospital, suspended treatment over unpaid bills amounting to approximately Ksh12 million. The legal aid organization warns that the suspension, which began on August 4, 2025, puts inmates at serious risk of deteriorating health, suffering, and death.
