A DCI officer has been arrested and is set to appear in court on Monday following the fatal shooting of two boda boda riders in Makongeni, Thika West Sub-County. The incident, which occurred on Sunday morning, has sparked outrage and protests.

• Constable Eric G. N., attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters, allegedly shot Kennedy Ojuma (38) and Stephen Mwendwa Maweu (39) after a traffic accident.
• The officer, who appeared intoxicated and armed, resisted traffic officers' attempts to disarm him before discharging his weapon.
• Local residents and boda boda riders protested by torching and vandalizing the officer’s black Audi, which was later towed to Makongeni Police Station.
• The suspect is currently held at Kiambu Police Station and will be arraigned in Kiambu Law Courts for custodial orders.
