Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo has nominated three new County Executive Committee Members (CECMs), two months after surviving an impeachment bid. These nominations follow a turbulent period for Guyo, including a recent order for his arrest by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) over alleged kidnapping and robbery with violence.

• New CECMs nominated are Luqman Ahmed (Finance and Economic Planning), Hussein Jirmo Katelo (Lands, Transport, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, Urban Planning and Municipal Services), and Guracha Kikuyu (Water, Environment, Climate Change, Mining and Natural Resources).
• Governor Guyo survived an impeachment motion in July 2025 when the Senate rejected it with a 31-12 vote.
• The DPP ordered Guyo’s arrest for allegedly storming Outbark Hotel in Maanzoni, Machakos County, to attack and kidnap Abdirahaman Mohamed, former Isiolo County Chief Officer of Health.
