President William Ruto has appointed Sitati Olando as the new acting head of the Government Delivery Unit (GDU), effective immediately. This appointment follows the immediate revocation of Lee Kyonze, who was previously serving in an acting capacity, and comes after the resignation of Peter Mbae in January.

• Sitati Olando, a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA), brings almost two decades of experience to the role.
• He will report to Eliud Owalo, the Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Delivery and Government Efficiency at the Executive Office of the President.
• The GDU is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the progress of flagship government projects and reporting on their implementation.
• The process of recruiting a substantive Head of the Government Delivery Unit has been initiated in consultation with the Public Service Commission.
