President William Ruto has directed the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to oversee the construction of 70 Level Four hospitals across Kenya. This directive, confirmed by Defence Principal Secretary Patrick Mariru, aims to fast-track infrastructure development by leveraging the KDF's efficiency while collaborating with other government agencies and county governments.

• KDF has already been deployed in regions like Siaya, Nairobi, Meru, and Kiambu to revive stalled hospital projects.
• The Ministry of Defence will also partner with the Ministry of Sports to construct stadiums nationwide, sourcing labor from local communities.
• Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya clarified that KDF's role is supervisory, ensuring efficiency and timely completion without taking away local employment, as demonstrated by the Ksh2.2 billion upgrade of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium and Siaya County Referral Hospital.
