Absa Bank Kenya has named Mr. Mohammed Nyaoga, EBS, SC, as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective October 1, 2025. He will succeed Mr. Charles Muchene, whose nine-year tenure concludes on September 30, 2025.

• Mr. Nyaoga brings over four decades of experience in legal practice and financial sector leadership, having previously chaired the Central Bank of Kenya and EcoBank Kenya.
• The outgoing Chairman, Mr. Muchene, oversaw significant transformations, including the bank's rebrand from Barclays to Absa.
• Mr. Nyaoga currently chairs the African Development Bank Group's Disclosure and Access to Information Appeals Panel.
