The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has issued a directive for the nomination of Grade 9 learners with talents in arts and sports to be placed in the Arts and Sports Science Pathway in senior schools, with submissions due by October 17, 2025.

KNEC requires learning institutions to submit details for Grade 9 learners demonstrating potential in Visual Arts, Sports, Theatre, Music, and Dance.
The nomination process prepares for the rollout of Senior School pathways under the Competency Based Curriculum, beginning in January 2026.
Schools must submit nominations online using a Ministry of Education Nomination Tool, providing evidence of performances, productions, and exhibitions.
Other senior school pathways include Social Sciences and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
