Nairobi City County has announced a mandatory verification exercise for traders' weighing and measuring equipment between August and November 2025. All affected traders in various sub-counties must submit their instruments for inspection and stamping at designated centers.

Inspection and stamping will occur across numerous locations including police stations, social halls, chiefs' offices, shopping centres, and county offices.
Traders with instruments exceeding 500kg capacity must notify the inspector in writing at least three days before inspection, as these will be tested in situ.
The exercise covers sub-counties like Westlands, Kibra, Dagoretti, Langata, Roysambu, Kasarani, Starehe, and Embakasi.
