The National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) has disbursed Ksh422,458,200 for August's monthly cash transfers to support 132,779 vulnerable households across eight arid counties in Kenya.

• Each eligible household will receive Ksh2,700 to purchase food and essential needs.
• The funds are part of the Hunger Safety Net Programme (HSNP) under the Inua Jamii Social Protection programme.
• The eight arid counties benefiting are Mandera, Marsabit, Wajir, Turkana, Samburu, Isiolo, Garissa, and Tana River.
• Beneficiaries include 39,831 households in Turkana receiving over Ksh107 million and 22,107 households in Mandera receiving Ksh59 million.
• CEO Hared Adan urged beneficiaries to visit local banks and agents for access, and those with payment issues to update their details.
