The Loiyangalani to Suswa transmission line has been fully restored, enabling the renewed flow of up to 300MW of wind energy from the Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) project into Kenya's national grid.

The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (Ketraco) completed the Sh207 million project to rebuild the critical 400kV line.
Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi emphasized that the restored capacity will boost reliability and assure consumers of consistent electricity access.
The restoration, completed in two phases by September 28, reinstates N-1 contingency, enhancing grid resilience and reducing outages.
