Samsung’s One UI 8 update, which features Android 16, is now available for several Galaxy devices across East Africa. The rollout is specifically for phones running the AFR CSC firmware, which covers Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and other nations in the region. The Samsung Galaxy A35 in Kenya has begun receiving the update with firmware version A356EXXU5CYI8, making it the first A-series midrange device from 2025 to get the new firmware. The update is also rolling out to Samsung Galaxy A34 5G, Galaxy A26 5G, and Galaxy A15 5G smartphones in East Africa. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A55 continues to await the update locally in Kenya.
