Samsung is rolling out its Android 16-based One UI 8 update to the Galaxy Tab S9 series in East Africa, bringing a host of new features and improvements. This update follows a previous release for the Galaxy Tab S10 lineup in Kenya.

• The update includes an expanded Galaxy AI suite, significant DeX improvements, and an overhauled tablet experience.
• Affected models are the Galaxy Tab S9 (SM-X716B), Galaxy Tab S9 Plus (SM-X816B), and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra (SM-X916B).
• New features include real-time call captions, enhanced AI Select, automatic translation of emergency alerts, and DeX support for widgets on external displays with WQHD resolution.
• The update also enhances multitasking with the ability to open three apps side-by-side in landscape mode and introduces a refined interface with a new moving lock screen clock style.
