A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of University of Nairobi student Jane Atila, whose decomposed body was found dumped in Kefri Muguga Forest, Kiambu County.
- Atila, aged 20, was reported missing on October 13 after last being seen on October 3 leaving her campus residence to visit her estranged boyfriend, the arrested suspect Mutua.
- Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) apprehended the suspect after forensic fingerprint identification analysis confirmed the body was Atila's.
- The suspect has been arraigned, and a 21-day custodial order was issued to allow for further investigations, with the matter set for mention on November 13.
