The Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) has received a shipment of 30,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer at the Port of Mombasa, set to reach tea farmers starting next week. This timely arrival aims to boost tea production despite previous delays caused by legal disputes.

• KTDA Chairman Chege Kirundi announced the fertilizer consignment, with additional shipments of 33,000 metric tonnes and 36,000 tonnes expected from China soon.
• KTDA Board Member G.G. Kagombe stated that persistent court cases, now resolving after ten months, caused significant delays in fertilizer procurement for the third time in four years.
• Farmers will access the subsidized NPK fertilizer 26-5-5 at KSh 2,500 per 50kg bag, expected to improve yields.
