The Kenyan government will clear the remaining Sh7.76 billion owed to public university staff from the 2017–2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in phases over the next three years.

• The total cost for implementing the CBA, including pension liabilities, stands at Sh16.57 billion.
• Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi confirmed that Sh8.6 billion has already been disbursed towards the agreement.
• This decision follows a March 2025 Court of Appeal ruling that upheld full implementation of the CBA.
