- The strike by the Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU), Kenya University Staff Union (KUSU), and Kenya Union of Domestic, Hotels, Educational Institutions, Hospitals and Allied Workers (KUDHEIHA) ended after a deal for payments in November 2025 and July 2026.

Kenyan university staff unions have called off their 49-day strike after the government agreed to release Sh7.8 billion for salary arrears and part of the 2021–2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Separately, the government announced it will clear the remaining Sh7.76 billion owed to public university staff from the 2017–2021 CBA in phases over the next three years. In a different financial commitment, the National Treasury has raised Sh104 billion to address outstanding payments owed to road contractors. This funding was secured through a bridge facility under the Kenya Roads Bond programme.
