The Environment and Land Court in Thika has issued temporary injunctions to stop the sale or development of a nine-acre parcel of land in Kahawa Sukari, Ruiru, Kiambu County. The land, valued at Ksh250 million in 2019, was allegedly grabbed from a public school, prompting the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to seek its recovery.
- The EACC claims the land, identified as Ruiru/Kiu Block 3/1372, was originally set aside for a secondary school within the Kahawa Sukari Residential Scheme.
- Kahawa Sukari Limited, the original developer, allegedly breached lease conditions by selling the land to private individuals in 2005 without government consent.
