Kenyan basketball teams have once again failed to impress on home soil, underperforming in two major Zone Five championships within six weeks. The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) women's team finished third in the 2025 Women Basketball League Africa (WBLA) Zone Five qualifiers, while Kenyan men's teams also fell short in their respective championship.
- KPA women secured third place, beating Burundi's Les Hippos 89-81 in overtime to qualify for the WBLA final in Cairo, Egypt.
