President William Ruto has officially launched the dualling of the Rironi–Nakuru–Mau Summit Road, a critical infrastructure project set to transform the 170-kilometre corridor linking Nairobi to the Rift Valley and western regions of Kenya.

• The project is a public-private partnership involving China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and the National Social Security Fund (NSSF).
• The road will feature a four-lane dual carriageway from Rironi to Naivasha and a six-lane dual carriageway between Naivasha and Nakuru.
• Scheduled for completion by June 2027, the upgrade aims to reduce congestion, improve safety, and boost economic integration by lowering transport costs.
