A squad of four Kenyan youth boxers is heading to Luanda, Angola, for the fourth edition of the Africa Youth Games from December 14-21. This event aims to prepare them for future continental and global championships.
- The team consists of four boxers aged 15-16 years: Ellah Demesi (minimumweight, 48kg), Clinton Omondi (bantamweight, 54kg), Felix Ochieng’ (featherweight, 57kg), and Sonia Atieno (light welterweight, 63.5kg).
- The head coach, John Omondi, stated the team has "gained immensely" from training alongside the senior squad at Mathare Police Depot in Nairobi.
- The trip is sponsored by the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) and other government agencies, aiming to provide exposure to young athletes and ensure continuity in elite championships, according to team manager David Munuhe.
