The Kenya Union of Clinical Officers (KUCO) has issued a 21-day strike notice, effective December 22, 2025, threatening to disrupt health services across Kenya due to the government's failure to sign a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

• The strike notice stems from the government's alleged failure to honor a Return-to-Work Agreement signed on July 8, 2025, and another pact from July 27, 2024.
• George Gibore, KUCO General Secretary and CEO, demands the Ministry of Health sign the CBA and the Council of Governors complete negotiations within the notice period.
• The union also highlights counties’ failure to implement the Salaries and Remuneration Commission’s (SRC) reviewed pay structure and absorb contracted health personnel from programs like Global Fund and Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
