A London court has dismissed a high-profile lawsuit filed by SportPesa shareholder and former chair Paul Wanderi Ndung’u, ruling his claims of fraud and unlawful dilution of his stake were entirely baseless. The 190-page judgment by Justice Edwin Johnson found no evidence to support Ndung’u's accusations.

Ndung’u alleged that his stake in SportPesa Global Holdings Limited (SPGHL) was fraudulently reduced from 17 per cent to 0.8 per cent between 2019 and 2022.
The court found the share allotments were lawful and aimed at stabilizing the company during financial difficulties related to tax disputes involving Pevans East Africa.
The UK High Court also ruled that Ndung’u had not suffered measurable financial loss, as his shares had no demonstrable value due to the company's difficulties at the time.
