- Muthoni stressed that individuals experiencing common symptoms like diarrhea or vomiting should seek a doctor's prescription instead of self-medicating.
- Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) was directly responsible for 1.27 million global deaths in 2019 and indirectly contributed to 4.95 million deaths, according to the World Health Organisation.
- The advisory also urged Kenyans to practice good hygiene, avoid sharing personal items, and exercise caution around vulnerable groups to prevent contagious diseases.
