The Kisumu County Government is facilitating the repatriation of Dr. George Rae's body from Seoul, South Korea, after settling his hospital and mortuary bills. Dr. Rae, a senior health advisor to Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o, passed away on December 26, 2025.

• Total hospital and mortuary bills paid by the county amount to approximately Ksh. 5.26 million (KRW 59.675 million).
• Dr. Rae's body will depart Seoul on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11 PM Korean time, arriving in Nairobi on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
• He previously served as the CEO of Jaramogi Oginga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) and was instrumental in resource mobilization for Kisumu County's health sector.
