Kenya Met has released a new weather update forecasting occasional showers for Nairobi and other regions, particularly in the afternoons, while much of the country will experience sunny and dry conditions.

• The weather update, issued on Saturday, is valid from January 17 to Wednesday, January 21.
• Nairobi and the Highlands east of the Rift Valley can expect afternoon showers, with maximum temperatures around 29°C and minimums dipping to 7°C.
• Regions like Western Kenya, including Kisumu, Nakuru, and Kericho, will also see a slight chance of afternoon showers on Sunday and Monday.
• North-western counties (e.g., Turkana, Samburu) and northeastern counties (e.g., Marsabit, Mandera) will remain hot and dry, with temperatures reaching up to 38°C.
• Strong winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5 m/s) are predicted for North Western, North-Eastern, South-Eastern Lowlands, and the Coast.
