The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) announced a two-week phased closure of the Mayoni–Bungoma (Kanduyi) Road to facilitate surface dressing works. This disruption will affect the dual carriageway between the Musikoma Roundabout and Kandunyi Junction.

• The Kandunyi-Bound lane will close from Monday, January 19, at 6am until Sunday, January 25, at 6pm.
• The Mayoni-Bound lane will close from Monday, January 26, at 6am to Sunday, February 1, at 6pm.
• Director General Luka Kimeli urged motorists to follow traffic management plans.
• This closure follows a recent announcement of traffic disruption along the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to James Gichuru route for expansion, landscaping, and beautification along the 27-kilometre stretch.
