President William Ruto has introduced a new directive stating that civil servants who mentor youth within the President’s Award Scheme will now be preferred for promotions by the Public Service Commission (PSC). This initiative aims to acknowledge and reward public servants contributing to youth development.

• Promotions will be granted on preference to public servants who dedicate time to mentoring youth in the President's Award Scheme.
• The President’s Award Scheme targets young people between the ages of 14 and 24, focusing on community service, expertise development, physical recreation, and adventurous journeys.
• Ruto also instructed the Head of Public Service to secure new offices for the Presidential Award Agency and directed the Cabinet Secretary for the Treasury to increase its budgetary allocation for the next financial year.
