The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists’ Union (KMPDU) has rejected fresh negotiations on doctors’ basic salary adjustments, asserting that the process is already in the implementation phase following court-adopted agreements from 2024.

• Dr. Davji Atellah, KMPDU Secretary General, stated that further multi-agency engagements would only cause unnecessary delays.
• The union highlighted that a multi-agency team had already worked on the issue for over eight months beginning in early 2023.
• The Ministry of Health and the Council of Governors supported KMPDU's position, confirming that funds are available for the revised salaries.
