A Swiss technology firm, Travizory Border Security SA, has initiated international legal action against the Kenyan government at the World Bank's arbitration court. This dispute arises from allegations that Kenya expropriated Travizory's border management technology without permission or compensation, after terminating their contract for the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system.

• Travizory is seeking damages for alleged expropriation, filing the case with the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) on December 16, 2025.
• The ETA system, developed by Travizory, launched in January 2024, processing 1,596,799 applications and generating over Ksh6.45 billion in revenue for Kenya before its termination in March 2025.
• The Kenyan government replaced Travizory's system with its locally developed eCitizen platform, which Travizory claims replicates its proprietary technology.
• The dispute is being pursued under the Switzerland-Kenya Bilateral Investment Treaty of 2006.
