- Chairman Erastus Ethekon highlighted a budget shortfall of Ksh 22 billion, requesting a total of Ksh 63 billion for adequate preparation for the 2027 polls.
- The commission also proposes repealing Section 20 of the Elections Offences Act to grant the IEBC direct disciplinary powers over electoral misconduct, rather than relying on the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
- The Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, directed the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) and the Constitutional Implementation Oversight Committee (CIOC) to meet with the IEBC within four months to fast-track these demands.
