This directive comes after repeated failures by county executives to appear before parliamentary committees to answer audit queries for the 2024/25 financial year.

• CPAC Chairperson Moses Kajwang stressed that foreign travel is not a constitutional obligation and cannot override accountability.
• Governors Nadhif Jama of Garissa County, Abdi Guyo of Isiolo County, Abdulswamad Nassir of Mombasa County, and Lati Lelelit of Samburu County are among those summoned for failing to appear.
• The Senate is exploring legal and administrative measures, including engaging the National Treasury to halt fund disbursements, to compel compliance.
