The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a five-day weather forecast, predicting light to moderate rainfall in Western Kenya and the Rift Valley, while Nairobi and other eastern highlands regions will experience cool nights despite predominantly dry conditions. The rest of the country is largely expected to remain sunny and dry.
- Counties in the Highlands west of the Rift Valley, including Kisumu, Siaya, Kakamega, and Nakuru, are forecast to receive scattered rainfall, mainly in the afternoons and nights, with some thunderstorms.
- Night temperatures in Nairobi and surrounding counties like Kiambu, Nyeri, and Murang’a are expected to drop to lows of between 5°C and 8°C.
- Northern counties such as Turkana, Samburu, and Marsabit will experience daytime highs of up to 38°C.
- The Kenya Met also confirmed that the Coast region, including Mombasa and Lamu, will have warm, humid, and dry conditions.
