The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has successfully recovered public land in Machakos town valued at approximately Sh50 million. The two parcels, Machakos Municipality Block 1/623 and Machakos Municipality Block 1/624, were illegally allocated to private individuals in the early 1990s and were originally reserved for Ministry of Health institutional housing.

The recovered land measures about 0.79 acres and is located along Kangundo Road.
The EACC filed a suit in 2019 for the recovery of Machakos Municipality Block 1/623, which was resolved by a court judgment on January 16, 2026.
The EACC Director, Legal Services and Asset Recovery, David Too, stated that the commission is pursuing the recovery of assets valued at approximately Sh363 million across Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni counties.
