Huruma, Nairobi, experienced overnight unrest after a fatal incident during a police operation on Saturday night. The National Police Service (NPS) has urged calm and confirmed an investigation by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) into the death of a young person.

• The incident began with the arrest of suspects linked to a robbery where a complainant was robbed of a silver chain and Sh1,800.
• During a second arrest, youths incited by a suspect pelted officers with stones, leading police to fire warning shots.
• One member of the public sustained fatal injuries, and two vehicles were reportedly set ablaze during the breakdown of law and order.
